After spending more than 3 years working in IT as a Software Developer, seeing the ups and downs. One of the trends is to slowly increase working hours, 30 minutes a time, as if, we would not realize and the more we stay in office, the more will be our productivity.
If that were the scenario, Google would not be strategizing to keep employees out of office, after office hours.
As said, If a normal human body consists of 70% water, than a developer's body consists of 70% coffee.
A developer's normal day have a breakfast break, a lunch break, a snacks break and frequent coffee breaks.
Oh wait, some meetings, replying to mails, web browsing and some socializing.
I forgot, some programming too!!!
Simply, 8 hours of 100% concentration is a myth.
More working hours means, more breaks, or more network usage, else more socializing.
A developer only codes, what he has planned for the day.
